Dolby Artist Series

Dolby Laboratories
The Dolby Art Series is a groundbreaking collaboration involving 22 international artists and studios hailing from London, Thailand, Poland, Japan, and the Americas. These creative minds were tasked with a seemingly simple design concept, drawing inspiration from the iconic Double D logo, but were encouraged to infuse their own unique perspectives and statements. Their resulting artworks now adorn offices across the globe, and this initiative was made possible through the partnership with Mucho.
Dolby's identity lies at the crossroads of science and art, as it delves into the realm of sensory experiences by exploring the science of sight and sound. Given its intrinsic connection to technology-enabled creativity, it was only natural for Dolby to collaborate with artists to amplify these exceptional sensory encounters through their craft.
For instance, the Amsterdam-based design collective Experimental Jetset crafted a thought-provoking diptych that revolves around the journey from a tangible object to abstract information and back to its material form. Meanwhile, the up-and-coming New York-based agency Gretel presented a piece that skillfully incorporates elements reminiscent of the visual graphs utilized by sound designers. David McLeod, a multidisciplinary artist and illustrator primarily working in CGI, contributed three visually distinct yet interconnected pieces that serve as a tangible representation of synthesizer waveforms. Notably, Sara Andreasson took a whimsically illustrative approach, capturing the intimate exchanges and connections between individuals.
